The myths of the Spirit Blossom Festival have been passed from generation to generation within Ionia, retold with every blooming to entertain and teach important lessons. This skinline imagines our champions as the mythic figures from these Ionian folktales, such as Ashe as the Wandering Queen.

Illustrate your favorite new Spirit Blossom skins, using one of the new myths to inspire your creation if you wish.

MYTHS

Spirit Blossom Ashe

Myth tells of the Wandering Queen, whose curiosity led her to trade places with the Grovemother. The cost of this choice was high, and she returned to see her loyal Ready Hand and the Grovemother locked in combat. Throwing herself between them, she died in the Ready Hand's arms, her final words an apology. Now she roams the wilds, guiding the lost.

Spirit Blossom Irelia

The Ready Hand was a devoted bodyguard to the Wandering Queen. Yet when her duty to protect was eclipsed by a desire to see her queen happy, calamity followed. The kingdom fell, and the queen died in her arms. Now, as an akana spirit, the Ready Hand roams the endless night, burdened by regret.

Spirit Blossom Ivern

When the Wandering Queen died, she was buried beneath the tree planted on the day she was born—a tree said to watch over her for all her days. She awoke in a world beyond, clutching one of its branches, which she shaped into a sacred bow. As the branch bloomed, the guardian tree revealed its spirit—a friend who’d been with her all along.

Spirit Blossom Bard

It is said that the Keeper of the Garden drifts among the flowers, gathering wayward memories left behind by travelers who wished to forget their pain. Though some are not yet ready to settle, the sprites of memory remain safe in the Keeper’s care.

Spirit Blossom Zyra

Once, there was a woman with a broken heart who longed to forget her sorrow. A powerful spirit, moved by her plight, granted her wish. The woman’s tears turned to blossoms, her body took root, and the Garden of Forgetting was born. Now, weary hearts wander into its embrace, hoping the blooms will ease their grief.

Spirit Blossom Lux

When a kind young woman freed a trapped creature—a spirit in disguise—she was offered a single treasure. Among dazzling riches, she chose a plain gray stone, told it could help many. It was no stone at all, but a shell with two glowing pearls. In her hands, they became a staff of light, a gift the Lady of Pearls now uses to guide others through darkness.

Spirit Blossom Varus

As guardian of a peaceful temple, the Archer welcomed a wandering Artist, allowing him to shelter with his beloved monks. But when the Artist painted him, the sorcerous portrait leapt from the canvas and ravaged the temple. The Archer’s grief hardened to fury. Now, he hunts the wicked Artist, hoping to bring peace to those he could not save.

Submissions need to include at least one of the following champions from this year’s Spirit Blossom theme:

As long as your artwork contains one of the above champions, you may additionally include any previously released Spirit Blossom champions. Do not add in any original concepts of champions in the Spirit Blossom thematic. Only illustrate those above or previously released as they appear in-game.

GENERAL INFO

  • The contest starts April 21st at 8:00 AM PT.

  • The deadline for submission for all entries is May 18th, 2025 at 11:59 PM PT.

  • Winners will be announced and posted on or before June 4th, 2025.

  • The work submitted to this contest must be originally made for this contest.

  • Riot Games is the sole judge of the contest. All judgments are final.

THE RULES

There are some rules that are unique to this competition, so please read the following carefully along with the general info below.

  • Follow the Prompt: Your submitted illustration must include at least ONE Spirit Blossom champion from the list above.

  • Dress Code: Champions must be portrayed in the skins as they appear in the Spirit Blossom universe—this is not the place or time to share original takes on skins that don’t exist.

  • Submissions: You must submit your entry through Woobox.

  • Play by the Rules: Make sure you read the official contest rules to ensure your region is able to participate.

  • English Please: Entries with visible text must be in English. Any text featuring non-English text will be disqualified.

  • Sign Your Work: All entries MUST include your Summoner Name and Server integrated into the upper right hand corner of your art! NO OTHER WATERMARKS PLEASE!

  • No Generative AI: You must not use generative AI for any part of the creation process.

  • Size Matters: Please keep submissions under 10 MB.

  • Keep it Clean: All submissions must be suitable for all ages.

  • Medium Matters: Entries can be digital or traditional. While cosplay, sculpture, and so many other artforms are incredible, they are not valid for this contest.

  • Verified Email: Each artist who submits an entry must have a valid Riot ID and verified email address. Click here to verify your email.

  • Eyes on the Prize: Potential winners will be contacted via the email associated with the submitter’s League of Legends account, so please make sure it’s correct before submitting your entry and watch it closely after the contest deadline.
