Anima Squad asked League Players to come up with their best Anima Squad fan art this summer, and y’all delivered. In a challenge greater even than defeating Primordian Aatrox, our judges went through thousands of spectacular pieces of art. From paintings to animations, y’all made it difficult to choose. However, after much deliberation, the judges have finally narrowed down the selection to their Grand Prize and Honorable Mentions. 

GRAND PRIZE WINNERS

These were selected as the top five submissions based on judging criteria (in no particular order). Members of League of Legends’ art team left some notes on each selection, and were blown away at the level of talent and passion y’all brought to your submissions.

“This image really stood out to us with its uniquely bold color statement. We love the composition, the playful character acting, the vibrancy, and the graphic elements! It really encapsulates the fun chaotic energy of Anima Squad.”

“We love the epic mood and overall dynamism! The artist did an amazing job selling the sense of depth and scale (Aatrox feels huge!). The storytelling is great and we really like how this image ties into the Swarm game mode!”

“We really like how the illustration uses character silhouettes as framing elements on the top part! Overall, this is such a fun image with so many great details. Feels like there’s something new to discover in every corner of the image!”

“The lighting and the mood is so epic! We really like how the artist chose to feature animal spirits behind the Anima Squad members. It’s such a creative visualization of the animals the Squad Members represent! We also love how the lightning is being used as a graphic element to separate the two parties in the image. Overall, this image has great storytelling and really embodies Swarm Mode”
